  LOVED this place! Such an excellent value and superb service! The sushi chef was very accomodating, friendly and creative! He was happy to share his personal favorites (all of which were delicious) as well as craft something special according to our tastes.
  
  A pleasant surprise that the appetizers and dessert were included in the all-you-can-eat special! A beer or sake is included on Fri/Sat/Sun dinners too. We came in on a Thursday at lunch and it was only $15/per person, a total steal.
  
  We shared wontons, salad, a custom roll, salmon nigiri, the King Kong roll, the MG roll, the sunset roll, a quail egg shooter, the orange in plum wine, and strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce.

  Diner BEWARE!  I had been here on a few occasions and had a so so experience, but this last one was kind of the defining moment when I decided I'd not be back.
  
  We would go here because they offered mixed Chinese and sushi, so it is more accommodating for those that really don't like sushi when with a group that does.  It made it a reasonably good choice for this purpose.
  
  Unfortunately, that's where the reasonably good choice ends.  Each time we went there was something that was out, sometimes sprite, sometimes the choice of adult beverage.  These are staples.  Whiskey and Sprite.  What establishment does not have these on a consistent basis you ask?  Well This one.  The last time we went, they were quite literally out of everything, including some food items.  Every item we tried to order was out.  Drinks, food, you name it.
  
  When we were finally able to strike an accord as to you what could be ordered, we were saddened by the fact that there was one Sushi chef on staff and it could potentially take 30 or more minutes to get our food.  Not to mention that with the AYCE, we were only allowed one paper to pass around between 5 people, because there was only one chef.  When we received our drinks, we received the wrong things and were ultimately missing pieces... and that was just the drink order.  We did not wait for the food.  I settled the food bill and we opted to go to another establishment to have our meal.
  
  The food here is nothing special, fish is sort of fresh, Chinese is ok.   I may recommend that you save yourself the hassle and find another place to eat.

  Since I've been coming here for years, and continued my patronage throughout some less than stellar meals in the past, I've whittled down their menu to my absolutely favorite and most consistent menu items.
  
  Three of those items being: Beef Chow Fun (some of the best I've had in town actually), Pan Fried Potstickers, and Lettuce Wrapped Chicken. And those were the items I enjoyed during my most recent visit.
  
  I ordered takeout and when I arrived, they greeted me with my order. Making my transaction quick and painless, as it should be when you're just trying to pick some food up and get home to enjoy it.
  
  The food was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious and we had to force ourselves to stop eating to have leftovers for the next day!

  Okay so the last time (2017) my fam and I ate here it was average. The food was average, the service was average, the atmosphere was just average. Nothing special hence the huge gap of revisiting. However after seeing their recent reviews and photos I thought why not give it a go again.
  I noticed there was a new server whom was on it! Very fast and checked on us a lot. I liked that.
  It wasn't crowded at all, I'm not sure if it ever is but I enjoy that about this place.
  The food came out so fast and it tasted super good. My husband ordered sweet and sour chicken, it came out hot and crispy and smothered with sauce. The beef and broccoli is the best. We all loved it!  I got something new, the chicken chow fun; it was so good. I'm so happy I found a place with delicious wide noodles!
  Shanghai got their stuff together. Now on my top list of Chinese go-to.

  I'm new to Sparks and still finding my way around, looking for different places to eat, hopefully finding a new future go-to spot. I reviewed another Chinese/Sushi restaurant for a similar noodle dish, as I gauge most Chinese restaurants by this single offering.
  
  Chow fun is my benchmark dish. Why? Noodles are very perishable and unlike rice that is made several times a day, noodles are either fresh or not.
  
  I saw that Shanghai offered chow fun so I thought great! I didn't read that this restaurant serves their chow fun "sup chow" meaning with gravy. Had I known, I would have asked if they could serve it "gwon chow" meaning dry fried style.  Ordering it this way it is much more difficult for a restaurant to mask poor quality ingredients with a gravy sauce.
  
  Well, I got what I got so onto the review. The serving portion was good. About 90% portion sized compared to what I am used to in the San Francisco area.
  
  The noodles were cooked great, not too soft, not too hard. The chicken was tender as was the broccoli. Not over cooked. The sauce which was mainly soy sauce and perhaps some broth for moisture was too salty.
  
  Maybe I'm used to less salted foods but this was too much for me. I had to drink some hot tea to finish this  meal.
  
  The wonton soup was better, flavorful, the ingredients and the pork wonton were cooked just right. Which is important especially if a soup has been simmering for some time.
  
  Would I return? Probably as there are other dishes to try and see how they do.
